Poet and writer Linda Addison is the first African-American to ever win a Bram Stoker Award, which she has gone on to win repeatedly (five times total). Jamal Hodge is a multi-award-winning filmmaker and writer who is a sitting Board Member of Harlem Film House and Axs Lab. We will have plenty of their books on hand for purchase. You are also welcome to bring books from home. Q&A begins promptly at 1pm, followed by a signing until 3pm.

L. Marie Wood makes her triumphant return to Vortex for the debut of her latest — THE LOST STORIES. We’ll have plenty of copies of that, as well as her previous titles. Q&A begins promptly at 1pm, followed by a signing.

All the way from England, Kit Power is at Vortex for his very first U.S. signing! We’ll have his latest, Millionaires Day. And he’ll be joined Jon Kaczka who will be signing his debut novel Surviving the Summit Conference, and by Central Pennsylvania’s own Stephen Kozeniewski who will be signing all of his latest! Q&A with all three begins promptly at 1pm, followed by a signing.

Saturday, March 1st, we have Owen King and Clay McLeod Chapman signing here at the store from 1pm to 3pm! What do we have in stock for you to buy? Plenty of copies of Owen’s new graphic novel Self Help and plenty of copies of Clay’s new novel Wake Up And Open Your Eyes. We also have plenty of copies of Owen’s Sleeping Beauties (cowritten with Stephen King), The Curator, and Double Feature, as well as assorted back issues of Self Help and the Sleeping Beauties comic adaptation. And plenty of copies of Clay’s What Kind Of Mother and back issues of Seance in the Asylum and other comics.
Yes, you can also bring one item by each of them from home to be signed. But please limit it to one item by each of them, and please consider making some sort of purchase from the store, as well.
Due to the expected crowd size, there will be no Q&A. Customers should prepare to stand in line. And that means dress appropriately for the weather. We will most likely begin forming the line at 12:30, dependent upon the number of people lingering about.
For those of you who would like a selfie with Owen or Clay (or both), author John Urbancik (who is also a professional photographer) will be with them to facilitate those. We ask that you unlock your phone and have your camera app open before handing it to him.
